Glen Alan’s song “Sun’s Up” Recieves Honourable Mention

Glen Alan’s song “Sun’s Up” received an honourable mention in the Sixth Annual Great Lakes Songwriting Competition on Nov 23rd 2009.  The Great Lakes Songwriting Competition was established in 2003 and has been running for over 5 years.  The Great Lakes Songwriting Society provides workshops and supports songwriters in the development and recognition of their craft.  The competition is run by songwriters for songwriters and they guarantee that every song will be heard at least twice from beginning to end.  The except below was taken from the Great Lakes Songwriting Contest website (www.greatlakessongs.com)

We, the Michigan Songwriters, are dedicated to running a fair, unbiased contest in which each song is judged on its own merits, whether you’re a well-known songwriter or a talented amateur who’s never performed in public. Our judges are chosen with musical diversity and experience in mind.

    Glen:
I attended the Phil Ochs Concert you sponsored at the Rainbow Cinema last month. Great job!
I think the film would de really well in certain US venues like Cambridge, MA, Rochester, NY, Burlington, VT and others.
I spoke with John Timmins of Greenpeace about this and he suggested that I speak with you to get some background and explore possibilities.
I’m presently retired but I produced concerts and festivals in the US.
